Least and Favourite type/trope of guys seen in otome games?

So, I was just wondering what type of guys do you prefer to see in your otome VN's? Because personally I usually look for the tsunderes and occasionally the yanderes too. Haha. But I suppose recently ,I've been getting fond of the Do-S type ? :oops:

Anyways , I don't think I dislike any particular type. But if I had to mention one that I'm not really fond of , it'd be the Shota type . I dont have anything against it but ,huh , it doesn't exactly appeal to me since I usually go for the waaayyyy older guys, haha. Er. I guess this makes me a bit of an oyaji-con? OTL

Who I like: the flirty type & tsundere and those forever genki guys

Whom I don't like: older nii-san (sorry Toma fans!), shota, teacher, quiet type.

Me likes guys with subtle snark and a level head. If they aren't available first, I go with the cheerful and funny heroes. Guys who flirt shamelessly and don't give much lamps about what they do. Brash idiots hold a special place in my heart, especially if they wear glasses . . . which I haven't seen so far, sadly enough.

Dislikes? Probably the jerks who treat the heroine like rotten potatoes and boys who are way too overprotective. Those turn me off especially if their behavior is portrayed as good.

I like onii-chan type ~~especially a siscon kthx~~, sort of manly-younger-coughshota type, doS type yay, and oresama tipe. Plus I like guys that have hidden personality. Hmm... Sometimes I like a character because the VA is my life ruiner, but it depends.

I don't really interested in quiet type I gues... ´ ω `);

I have to say that I really seem to go for the tsunderes- the guys who seem rough and harsh but are actually very vulnerable. Sweet and innocent guys too- if I can get cavities from them I'm more than happy xD The innocence really appeals to me, probably because I'm the sort that's super easy to embarrass...

I'm not into guys way older than the MC/myself or that are way younger, though. Generally speaking, yanderes aren't for me either (note that I said generally so).

I have to admit I normally go for the guys who have quiet snark to them and are generally sarcastic but intelligently so. A good example would be Linds from Date Warp. But since that trope isn't exactly popular, I prefer the intelligent and elegant bishounen, especially if they wear spectacles. Mmm, yes, glasses on older men drive me absolutely crazy.

I usually save the 'puppy-love' or childhood-friend trope for last. I don't exactly like that trope very much, though when properly handled it can be sweet.

But it all really depends on the character. While playing The Royal Trap, I preferred Callum because he seemed like a realistic, interesting character, not Nazagi. While playing Re:Alistair, I went straight for Derek instead of Travis. ~~(When playing Spirited Heart I chose Mgorem because unf sexy demon warrior unffff)~~

My favorite is guys with two very different sides to them, where they might appear okay but secretly they're angsty or very conflicted or have some kind of dark secret. I like the mystery of learning about them and I like when the heroine gets to help them resolve or heal their problems :oops:

Also I'm drawn to the more mature and gentle types, and I like white hair and red eyes. A lot of my favorites seem to have glasses but I'm actually not into megane! Sannan, Natsuki, take off those glasses :twisted:

My least favorites are the quiet stoic types, genki/shota types, and characters who are very simple and straightforward. I get bored easily if there's not some mystery and conflict in a route.

Edit: Also I'm cursed to fall deeply in love with a non-gettable side character in just about every game... Crying

Hm, I tend to jump around on what I like in characters. Although I do think I prefer tsunderes (dat blush!) and guys that banter with you. Also long haired bishounen and it depends on the shota character, as long as they aren't too young. Sometimes sleepy type characters and kuuderes as well.

As for the types I don't like, I don't really like the playboy characters, megane characters (despite having glasses myself) although I do like glasses on characters that typically don't wear glasses, and childhood friends.

Although they really do depend on the character development and how they're portrayed.

I like cheerful ,innocent type and the tsundere type is cute too :oops:
and if he gets shy easily it effects me too X3 .. and the flirty type too
The type that I hate : Glasses .. ohh boy and if he was so full of himself I don't love the megane-type , and the shota especially if he was younger than the heroine for 4 or more years I don't get them and the older oyaji-types too Neutral

Me too!!! OMG , I didn't know that there is someone like me, when I play a game and I like one of the side characters I always feel shocked and wish if they did an ending with them at least even if it's friendship - ~~but I'd love if it was romance X3~~-

Hm...it jumps around. Generally I like the nice guys, but rather than the adorable shy type (especially since those usually have baby faces that make me feel like a pedobear at age 17), I prefer them to be confident and still caring? Like that ideal boyfriend type. A good tsundere is always nice though.

I hate arrogant guys, especially ones who seem to just drag the female along like she's their toy. Especially when they are overprotective or overpowering and the game somehow makes it a good thing that the girl has no voice or will of her own. I am not one for submissive heroines.

It's easier to say what I find unattractive, because I don't think I have a specific favorite type/trope.

I'm not interested in going for the heroines brother. The Do-S and Do-Ms are also a turn off. I just want to punch a guy out when they think they are god's gift to man. Shota's who act very infantile aren't my thing either. Then there are characters that are so cold that I wonder what the point of giving them a route was. The last thing I can think of are characters that don't stand out in any way. The kind that put me to sleep as I try to play their route.

Any character that doesn't fall into these categories, or mostly stays out of them is usually a character I enjoy.

I like the Yandere and flirty type. Or sometimes the kind and caring types.
OH and the quiet types, bad boy types. But I jump around a lot on what kind of types I like.

What I dislike are Shota characters, Happy go lucky guys and the arrogant characters.

I like Shotas, Prince-ly characters, and Yanderes the most.

Least favorite are the mean ones or the typical megane character (not that I dislike all characters wearing glasses, but the typical quiet, cold, smart alec ones.)

Kinda funny seeing as my best friend loves meganes and hates shotas.

I like the flirty, aloof, confident type(s). Confidence is a big thing for me, yes.
I also like the cool, quiet-ish, smart and calculating type. Think Ootouya (?), the glasses guy, from Ouran... maybe minus the thrifty-ness a bit.

I'd say I like tsunderes but there's just something about that incredibly soft, sensitive, vulnerable inside that ticks me off. I do, however, like the angsty coating. So yes, the yandere types are slowly growing on me.

As for shotas, it's fine if they're just short and acting like a kid sometimes. Not if they actually are kids who are younger than the protagonist (or than me) by four or more years.

The one who everyone likes and the one who is a womanizer (Something like Ren from Utapri I guess!) I just can't stand these type of guys I guess!

I'm rarely a fan of the playboy character. (Ikki breaks this mold, but he's something beyond the normal playboy character regardless. XD)

But, I really like the characters with a hint of mystery surrounding them. ...Which unusually winds up being hidden route / less popular characters orz... I also like inhuman characters, the socially awkward ones, and shotas who are older than they look. There's not as much of the age one in otome, beyond like the Bloody Twins, but it's a fairly common anime trope - Loki, Chrno, Conan - Seriously, I could make a list. And it would be impressive.

More like what DON'T I like! They're all gorgeous boys to play around with~.

What I especially like: Confidence, dandere, do-S, intelligence, kuudere, onii-san personality types, oresama, shota and shy guys.

What I tend to not like: Donkan, family, long hair, princely, players and teachers.

Likes: Stoic megane guys who are more rational than relying on emotions. (So it's cute when they finally get emotional, or you see social awkwardness.)
May or may not overlap with the shy person. Shy guys are cute.
The best friend type - sweet/gentle and just plain fun to be around.
Tsunderes sometimes - depends how they're written. I also just recently discovered they're really fun to write. XD

Dislikes: Playboy types, sadists, bad boys. I also hate it when guys don't respect the girl's personal space (forced kiss, dragging her to a hotel, uh that type of harassment. It's surprisingly common in otome games though, so I don't know if it's something people *want* or just the developers *thinking* it's what we want. -_-; ) Some actions can be explained, but a lot of the time it's just uncomfortable.

Lol I just realized the dude I picked for the faction is a megane too. win-win!

Well there are different type of shotas but i love the shota on Love Revo.
