I won't lie to you - the main reason why I'm interested in this game is because I love Klaus's (black haired guy) design. With that said - the art is really pretty and the story seems interesting.

Re: Yoiyo Mori no Hime
For some reason I'm getting vibes of Snow White meets military drama with religion from the synopsis. I'll keep my eyes on this since it sounds like a rather dark game.
Re: Yoiyo Mori no Hime
New company! Who knows, maybe Éterire will someday be as big as Rejet or Otomate.
I'm liking the sound of the plot. It reminds me a tiny bit of Akazukin to Mayoi no Mori. I hope the similarities end there- AtMnM was quite disappointing. I wonder if it'll stay as dark as it sounds or it'll go down the "revenge is bad" path...
I wonder how many of those seven guys (what's wrong with one of two of those seven people being women, anyway?) will be Ilza's love interests? I would prefer it if they stick to those two there, maybe had one or two smaller love interests routes and the rest of the guys be developed side characters. Having too many "main routes" present a lot of opportunities for inconsistencies and plotholes, me thinks.

Re: Yoiyo Mori no Hime
Someday, I want a game where I get to fully enact my vengeful and violent plots and in the end, the protagonist finds complete satisfaction as she cackles manically standing atop the corpses of her enemies. I know I'm crazy don't stare
Re: Yoiyo Mori no Hime
Srsly brah, you ain't crazy, and I get where you're coming from. This kind of thing only happens in bad ends! What is it with most otome game devs thinking that female readers don't want utsuge or darker plotlines? I guess it would be hard to write a game about wanting the readers to support their protagonist in achieving revenge.vocaotome wrote:Someday, I want a game where I get to fully enact my vengeful and violent plots and in the end, the protagonist finds complete satisfaction as she cackles manically standing atop the corpses of her enemies.I know I'm crazy don't stare

What I find odd is that their first game in on PSP, whereas most other visual novel companies (correct me if I'm wrong) develop their game for the PC.Laramie Castiel wrote:New company! Who knows, maybe Éterire will someday be as big as Rejet or Otomate.
I do hope Éterire becomes successful with Yoyoi Mori no Hime. I'm tired of all the average otomege that's been coming out recently
Re: Yoiyo Mori no Hime
@Daeyamati: Yeah, very true! You're right, most companies start with PC games as it's apparently easier and cheaper.
Wow, I could just go ON AND ON AND ON about how a lot of otome games coming out lately are just. Not. Good. Enough. They've been wavering between subpar and par for most of 2013. Especially Otomate. I guess it's ultimately the writers' fault, but it feels as though they think female readers don't give a damn about story and character development as long as they have a cast of heroes with popular moe-triggers and popular voice actors. Given that they do this again and again, this method must be good enough for them.

Re: Yoiyo Mori no Hime
This game seems... interesting. The art is very pretty at least, but I'm not too sure about the premise. I hope they have a good focus on the "revenge" thing.
Another thing that worries me is the amount of characters. I don't know if all of them will be available to capture, but, unless the game is long, this amount of characters can be a really bad thing.

Re: Yoiyo Mori no Hime
Yeah, I'm concerned about the amount of love interests and just "routes" in general they plan on including. It's been said a few times that in story writing, it's inadvisable to have more than seven significant characters as it can cause a variety of troubles. TBH, I get put off by most VNs that have too many characters.
However, games like Otometeki Koi Kakumei Love Revo!! and Tokimeki Memorial work with heaps of characters because the individual routes don't try to significantly involve everyone else.
I'd rather play an excellent game with only two love interests than a just-above-par game with many love interests.
