THE BEST OUT THERE

ok so im new in here and honestly new to all this so i wanna know what are the basics games and what are the best out there the must play and all that
also if there are any psp ones out there

Otome games typically have more emphasis on the characters than the creativity or originality of the plot. If you place importance on the plot rather than the characters, then your choices are more limited than in other subgenres of VNs. Currently, the most popular otome setting is high school. Past Japan is also a popular choice, such as the Edo and Taisho eras.

There is little to no gameplay in otome games. The most common "gameplay" format in otome games is the "choose-your-own-adventure"-type storytelling.

As you might expect, ask any fan "what is the best game?", and you'll get many different replies. It depends on what you're after. However, some games are mentioned more than others or are simply very popular. They are:

* Black Wolves Saga series, particularly, Bloody Nightmare
* Chou no Doku, Hana no Kusari (R18+)
* Diabolik Lovers
* Hakuouki ~Shinsengumi Kitan~
* Koezaru wa Akai Hana (R18+)
* The Starry Sky series
* Uta no Prince-sama

Black Wolves Saga: Bloody Nightmare is a fantastic game, but falls short in the romance department. It is very much a plot-driven otome game. Koezaru and Chou no Doku have good plots, but is more balanced as the romantic aspects are just as emphasised. Starry Sky is fun, but isn't very original plot-wise and is a character-oriented game.

Mmmm agree with most of these choices- most notably, Amnesia, Diabolik Lovers, Black Wolves Saga, Uta Pri, and Starry Sky.

If I might add in my own two cents, Cheritz does a great job with their otome- they are a Korean company, but both Dandelion and Nameless are fabulous.

If you're looking for mobile games, I'd give it to Voltage- they have some absolutely fabulous games for both iOS and android. Depends on what you're looking for, but my favorites so far are Forged Wedding and 10 Days with my Devil. Although, they are all fab.

Yeah everyone has different ones they can recommend, just a matter of what type you like =p

I've 100% both Amnesia and Amnesia Later [haven't gotten to Crowd yet] and I found it very enjoyable, especially the 'true route'. 

Hakuoki is also very popular and Aksys Games has translated some of them into English [I bought the limited edition of the first] so that should be easy to check out as well if you don't speak/read Japanese.

Some others off the top of my head you might enjoy are:
Starry Sky, The Second Reproduction [isn't everyone's cup of tea but I liked it], Yo-Jin-Bo [Haven't beaten it yet but heard lots of good]

I just started Black Wolves Saga and Glass Heart Princess so can't really say any aside from the ones I've gotten enough playtime in to give a comment to.

For me the best is Hakuouki   If you like historical story it will be give plus point in this game   

Nee, are Amnesia is really that GOOD? I haven't play it and still don't know if I must play it... I've searched pictures about Amnesia at google and the boys is so damn hot   , but I don't know about the story

It has an anime that give hints to stuff [anime isn't that good though] but it does exist. I watched it before playing the game cause I wanted the whole story. I've played the first two [haven't gotten to Crowd yet] and I can say it was good. The bad endings are interesting as well which I don't find to often for some visual novels.

hm... actually I never want watch anime until I had play the game first   It's make me sad sometimes to know everything before experienced in the game itself. Maybe you know anything beside the bad ending is interesting. I've curious why the bad ending is interesting... Little spoiler is accepted to me

  Oh okay... That's it.. THAT'S IT.. I'll play the game as soon as I can...  I can feel the complicated story from this game
