Playing Otome games without PSP

 I wrote this tutorial for [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], but I shall post it here for your convenience.

I made this tutorial anyway to cover the basics of setting it up. You’ll not be having any problems with game voices and savefiles. This emulator is awesome~!

PPSSPP supports multiple platforms: PC, ANDROID, iOS, Black Berry, Linux and Mac Osx. And the best part is, it’s totally free. They’ve got very nice developers and an active forum community. If you enjoyed your games after this tutorial, I highly beg you to support the developers as to continue polishing up PPSSPP. Now, I’m going to cover how to set PPSSPP on your PC. 


 Download the latest PPSSPP for [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
Download VC2010 redist and install. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

• If you don’t know what your computer bit is.
  
• Click your start menu and right click on “Computer” > “Properties”.
  

• In “System”,  check your “System type”
  

Extract PPSSPP_win.zip to an appropriate place with it’s own folder.
Click PPSSPPWindows.exe to start the program.
Click on “Game settings”

• Click “Audio”
  
• Click “Download Atrac3+ plugin”
  
• Click “Download and install”
  
• Restart by exiting PPSSPP and opening it back again.
  

Click “Load…” to open your PSP game. It’s usually in .ISO or .CSO format.
Aaand you’re done. Good job, get yourself a pat on the back! 

 This step is optional but if you want to see the PSP controls go to  ”Game settings” by hitting “ESC” button of your keyboard.

•  Click “Control”
  
•  Click  ”On-screen touch controls”
  
•  Click “Back” to continue your game.
  

 Now this is what it looks with your on-screen controls are visible.
Stuff to adjust

1. Click “Options”. It’s in the menu bar of PPSSPP right below the title bar.
   
2. Hardware transform ✓
   
3. Vertex Cache ✓
   
4. Show FPS is optional, it would only show you how fast your game is rendering
   

Reserved for specific game settings

Great tutorial! And this emulator is indeed good. I usually use it when I want to save CG's from my psp to my computer (I used remotejoy, but then it stopped working for some reason >.<)

I downloaded and working this..but oddly enough. I can't start the game. HELP? -pokes PPSSPP- I am also wondering if there is any hooks that translate text for the japanese games. XD

Personally, I work with the JPCSP emulator(also for PSP), so I can't be 100% sure, but if the game doesn't start at all, there's usually a problem with the video settings.
The tricky thing about emulators is that configuration always depends on the PC, so settings that work perfectly for one might not work for you.

It can run. I can scroll up and down down the menu, but not use start the game and stuff. XD

It can start now, though it appears it is based around touch screen controls. Thanks!

When I first started out, I saw your blog and that post, it helped me so much! Thanks~  you are awesome.

Thought I would give it a try but yup. My computers GPU doesn't support OpenGL 2.0.. -sigh- figures.

Okay..It's been a while. But I got a new problem. I been playing a game on the PPSSPP (Sweet Fuse to be exact, until my real life copy is returned by a friend).

I been trying to install it on my laptop. It's a 64 bit HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC.
However, a system error keeps popping up.

It keep saying MSVCP120.dll is missing..any reasons for that? Thanks.

I already give it a try and missing something, when I download and installed it, turn out that my laptop can't support it..

 The joy eh? Luckily my friend is lending me a modded PSP so I can play games *^* yay for amazing people.

If the ones based on OpenGL don't seem to work you can try a java based psp emulator but mind you, it takes a while to actually decode and load the game but it works  
This is one I use when I try and give my beloved psp a break

try it out and let me know if it worked for you just remember that for it to work you need to have the latest [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] update installed on your pc/laptop and a lot of time to wait for it to decode the iso
ps. I really hate Java especially Java based phones (Not mentioning any names...*cough*blackberry)

I wonder is  PPSSPP can be used with some hooks for translation?

I think PPSSPP can be use with machine translators and hooks but, only with visual novel reader. Sakamichi has a post about it.
