TBH, I think Misao, Yume Nikki and Ib are better. However, if you like RPG Maker horror stuff, they're worth a check.

Aww, he does such a detailed (sortof) let's play, but its still worth the effort ^^

Its short-ish and fun. And replayability is high too.

Yes, since it's only a couple of hours long with multiple endings.

Ib was a good short game
I'm bad with horrors but I played it in the mornings so I wasn't scared, it's a big plus that Ib had a companion(makes it less scary)

I agree, the fact that you get a companion is somewhat reassuring. I'm totally fine with watching horror, but playing horror is a completely different thing...

I played this game so many times to get all the ending 8) its so fun and addicting despite the fact that the graphics aren't the best. Really is a great game. I remember being "scared" or "surprise" quite a bit. I really got creeped when...

ooh true true, I'm sure it said how old Ib was in the game... but i cant remember! I kinda felt sorry for Mary, but then again, it is her fault tht Ib and Garry got trapped in the art gallery.

Ib is supposed to be 9-years-old. If she were at least 16~17, I'd happily go along with the Ib x Garry ship. It may seem low to some, but that's the average age of consent in Australia. Plus most people misuse the word "paedophile" anyway. That's an argument for another day, perhaps?

I'm not really sure if she set out to choose them for a particular reason.

After what feels like a year of meaning to play this, experiencing different problems with half working copies and such, I finally finished the game myself last night! And I got the most boring ending ever. XD

Mary was an interesting character, I feel like playing more just because of her, because I feel there's a lot more than what I already saw. All the characters are precious~ [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I knew the game was good, but I didn't expect that I would enjoy it so much! But I'm sold now, I completely love it, must...draw...fanart!!! *A*

(*casually ships older!Ib x Garry*) Well, Mary's character certainly was one I liked from the start, though the Lady in red was perhaps one of my greatest curiosities about the game. Those, and of course I loved how the paintings seemed to all subtly add to the creepy atmosphere.

Yeah, one of the paintings I thought about the most was Lady in Red as well. Its meaning is quite obvious, but I appreciated how their behaviour really hit home just how much Guertena loathed those women.

Maybe I'm reading in too much, but I felt as though the "paranoia" players feel when walking past the Lady in Red paintings may have also been designed to be symbolic of how Guertena felt about women as a whole.

When I played this game, I WORKEDcheated for the good end because I didn't want to see Garry go after watching Cry's playthrough. I've watched the new endings though and well

Exactly! There are so many subtle references in this game - not particularly contributing to the storyline, no, but once you think about it, it's really quite symbolic. Of course, there's only the comparison from the original gallery to the 'nightmare' gallery as well. Still, I agree that the 'paranoia' factor, but put into light, really makes you see the portraits in a new light.

Though I have to admit that the doll room was very interesting as well, along with Mary's world. It's truly a child's thinking, yet so very demented when you take it all into consideration. There's also the hangman to consider... well, safe to say, I'm going to be replaying Ib to uncover every single secret I can find hidden away. I'm a curious girl like that. (*sigh*)

Not sure if you guys know about it, but there is the final version of Ib, Ib 1.05.

Thanks Laramie, I thought 1.05 only has translation changes, but i wonder if I enjoy playing another round. Ack! I wished I forgot about the gameplay and played again

I've forgotten most of the gameplay, so I'm working on returning to "Ib n00b" levels.
