Re: Sadest anime moment
Hmmmm.... Probably all the scenes from Angel Beats! where once all the members of SSS passed on..
Re: Sadest anime moment
For me it was in FMA/FMA: Brotherhood
- Spoiler:
- when Hughes dies ;___; Then having to see his daughter's reaction and Roy's, it was awful.
Re: Sadest anime moment
I feel lame, but I cried at the end of Pokemon Heroes when Latios died and left Latias all alone. He was the sweetest, most protective big bro ever. Actually I cried during the first pokemon movie too, when Ash got turned to stone. I was probably caught up in the moment lol.
Wow, a lot of the times I cried during an anime where from the Pokemon series when I think about it (there are even more moments coming to mind).

Aw man, You're not the only one who cried with Ash turned to stone. I'll always remember that episode of pokemon where Ash decides to let Pikachu free to be with the other pikachu pack. ;_;

That too. The music made it 10 times worse. Pokemon knows how to pull at my heart strings.
Re: Sadest anime moment
Where to start? LOL
I'm just going to list things that actually made me cry. Otherwise the list would be too long.
Code Geass:
Fruits Basket:
Fullmetal Alchemist (Original):
Haibane Renmei:
Hourou Musuko:
Mawaru Penguindrum:
I'm just going to list things that actually made me cry. Otherwise the list would be too long.
Code Geass:
- Spoiler:
- Shirley's death tore me apart.
As did Rolo's.
But I didn't completely lose it until Lelouch's, at the end. It broke my heart to think that the world will always think of him as an evil man, even though he was really the savior of the world.
Fruits Basket:
- Spoiler:
- Hatori's backstory breaks my heart. Particularly when he erases Kana's memory, and talks about never being able to love again.
Momiji's backstory makes me cry too. Something about forcing oneself to keep all of one's memories, even the bad ones, hits really close to home.
I didn't cry during Kyo's backstory at all. But Tohru's conversation with Akito at the end really hurts.
Fullmetal Alchemist (Original):
- Spoiler:
- Hughe's daughter's reaction at his funeral. My God, that little girl could voice act!
Haibane Renmei:
- Spoiler:
- When Reki is in the depths of despair, unable to pass on into the next life, and Rakka comes to save her.
Hourou Musuko:
- Spoiler:
- Oddly enough, the thing that illicts the most emotion from me is the scene in the first episode, where Shu's sister walks in on him wearing her clothes, and she freaks, and he runs off crying/
Mawaru Penguindrum:
- Spoiler:
- I can keep it together right up until the moment Himari reads the note from her brothers, and then I lose it.
Re: Sadest anime moment
Puella Magi Madoka Magica, anyone?
THE FEELS.
THE FEELS.
- Spoiler:
- Mami was my favorite character so I was crushed when she died... Then there was Sayaka's anguish over having her crush stolen from her by HITOMI D:<
- Spoiler:
- When Homura is wearing Madoka's ribbon and talking to Madoka's mom, who doesn't remember she ever existed... T A T;;
Re: Sadest anime moment
Madoka didn't actually make me cry at all. It just ATE MY SOUL and left me a shriveled shell of my former self ._.
Re: Sadest anime moment
Madoka made me laugh hysterically. I could not take it seriously at all, sorry.

Also Natsume Yuujinchou, although it isn't really a sad show, makes me cry like a baby in some episodes. It just really touches my emotions and drives that theme of not wanting to be alone. Such a good show...

Re: Sadest anime moment
I didn't cry (I never cry if it's nothing real), but Madoka Magica did make me sad for
Naoki Urosawa's Monster had its moments. Great anime, highly recommended to all that don't mind long-runners (concluded, though).
I felt bad for Rena from the Higurashi series, but I suppose my impressions from the visual novel were more prominent as it was revealed that
- Spoiler:
Homura too, but not as much as Sayaka, my favourite character. As much as I wish Hitomi fell into a meat grinder for being a boring rich-girl stereotype and her belief in herself that she was actually reasonable in that "24-hours-to-confess" trite, nobody "steals" a crush. I'm willing to be a dick and disagree with the majority of society's belief(s) (Verdelish, if I offend you, I'm sorry) that people can be "stolen". It's just simply not true, IMO- barring magic, mind-manipulation, some other external variable that renders one incapable of making their own decisions.
It all boils down to Kyousuke not giving enough of a damn about Sayaka, and not reciprocating her feelings. I encourage Madoka fans to play the PSP game and learn for yourself how much of an ungrateful and worthless piece of crap Kyousuke really is. Or just watch Sayaka's routes on YouTube. I hate that guy more than Hitomi.
The Hitomi thing came out of nowhere, yes. That was yet another nail in Sayaka's coffin. The betrayal hit harder. Sayaka could have confessed to Kyousuke, even as a "non-human", if she were emotionally stronger and more secure of herself. Yes, she was young and naive- and had to learn the hard way that no wish is altruistic, and ultimately, anything that everyone does serve themselves in the end. I love Sayaka, but I really can't pretend that Kyousuke was stolen. Nor do I give a shit, aside from the fact it hurt Sayaka.

- Spoiler:
Rena's "friends" (all male) back at her old school tried to gang rape her so that's why she went bananas, bashed them up and then bashed the school windows. The boys never pressed charges for a reason, the slimy bastards.

I still cried for her sacrifice :nuu:

- My goodness, so that's why Rena beat the tar out of those boys. :affraid:They totally deserved what they got, then!
The Puella game sounds fantastic! I have to go watch it! I really did think Kyousuke was a crap friend to Sayaka, just going from the anime. I really just wanted to punch him in the face. :E
