Hello (◦′ ᴗ ‵◦)
Hey guys! I'm Mei, nice to meet you all
Haha I'm pretty bad at introductions, so idk what to write. I haven't played much otome games the past few years due to commitments, but since it's summer I thought it'd be a good time to start again (does anyone have any recommendations?)
Otherwise, I read a lot of manga and watch a lot of anime. I'm a huge sports fan so I've been really into Daiya no Ace recently. I also spend a lot of my free time playing the MOBA game League of Legends or surfing Tumblr/Reddit.
Hm, that's about it! Thanks for reading~

Hello there Mei. Glad to meet ya!
As far as recommendations, it'd help to know what kind of games you're interested in most and what format you'd prefer. (Like PC or mobile)
Ah, I'm also a big fan of manga and anime!
I'm actually watching Daiya no Ace myself at the moment. Though I'm not very far... Some sports anime I've finished is Haikyuu!!(Can't wait for the next season!) and of course Kuroko no Basket!
Once again welcome to the forums and hope ya' have fun!

I'm also following Daiya no Ace! Well, I'm in the process of watching it now (like around episode 50 currently). Miyuki Kazuya is just a fantastic specimen of a baseball-playing high schooler, if I do say so myself .
Also, ya, let us know what kinds of games you might be interested in. Maybe I could help to recommend something or maybe we could search for new and exciting sports anime themed otome games together XD

Re: Hello (◦′ ᴗ ‵◦)
I'm also into Sports anime...but more like Hajime no Ippo or Area no Kishi (Though I also enjoyed Kuroko no basket...)
You'll find a lot of material here, to catch up for the year xD
If you need recommendations (For Otoge) just ask, create a new topic, or just stalk the old ones...
Since you're both here (Berylee and Feyre) can I ask you guys if you also watch drama/live actions ?
Anyway, welcome to Otome Hearts !!

Re: Hello (◦′ ᴗ ‵◦)
Hey guys! Omg Daiya asdfghjkl; I could talk about it for forever. Miyuki Kazuya is the love of my life tbh + Narumiya Mei, haha I love that kid. Ahh I can't wait for you guys to catch up w/ the anime, so many things happen between episode 50 to the currently airing season 2 xD
I love Haikyuu and KnB too!kuroo tetsurou is my one and only love I'm super hyped for the fall anime season, so many good anime are coming out :3
As for games...I guess I'd prefer PC games? For visual novels, I've played Starry Sky & Dmmd, and I just started Hakuoki. I've also played various mobile games (uh, the free ones? it's been quite a while and I've deleted the games from my phone haha). But I like pretty much everything so throw your favourites at me ^^
@fairth: Yeah, I do! But only kdrama, though, and not much of it. What have you watched??

About Daiya: Miyuki is amazing! I have a little keychain of him, and also one of Furuya (because I find him adorable). I've been looking at picking up that Miyuki figure that fits in the palm of your hand -- gets released in Japan in September. I'll keep watching the anime while I'm at it
//I still haven't found anyone who watches Yowamushi Pedal around here? I have an obsession problem with it, honestly//
@fairth: Hmmm I've never really gotten into the whole live action drama scene. I'm usually all about the fancy animation. If you know of some good ones though, feel free to share and I might have a look.
@Feyre again: Any preferences for any particular aspects of the games you've played? Do you like strong story elements? Comedy? Lots of feels? Fancy graphics? Is there a type of guy you'd prefer? Long games/short games?
I'll dig through what I have and try to find you something good that you might like. Since I already know that you're a Prince of Tennis fan, "Tennis no Ouji-sama - Motto Gakuensai no Ouji-sama - More Sweet Edition" is a Nintendo DS game -- expensive to buy, a bit hard to get your hands on -- but there's an english patch available and there are ways to play it on your computer instead... well you know.

Ah, I've watched a bit. I mean I'm still not all that far because I tend to watch it pretty randomly...Berylee wrote://I still haven't found anyone who watches Yowamushi Pedal around here? I have an obsession problem with it, honestly//
I'm only at episode 18... hahaha. So, I'm probably not as far as you.
So far I like it though.
It's really hard watching all the series you fall behind in and keep up with all the new series that interest you while doing other things...
I've been busy and really slacked off on watching anime.

:O Spade! Yowapeda only gets better the more you watch. Episode 18 is close to where the series really starts to pick up. My fave character shows up in episode 22, and there's a good chance you'll think I'm insane once you get there, but it's all good. Get ready for some suspenseful bike theatrics, and lots of feels tripping. This is making me want to go ride my bike. I'll be back in a bit (hime hime~ hime~....)

I'll try and give myself some more time to watch it soon. Though right now I need to watch the final episode of a lot of series and I'm picking up a pre-ordered game which will take most of my attention for a few days.
Once I watch at least to 22 you'll have to tell me who your fave character is then.
Yeah. I hear a lot of people started riding bikes more because of this series.
Kind of makes me regret selling my awesome mountain bike(note: I live in an urban area and a regular bike could work just as well) for a PS3 even if I never learned how to balance on one with out training wheels.(note: my balance is so bad when I was younger I couldn't walk strait and use to run into beams frequently)

Hey no worries. If you're busy doing lots of things, I completely understand. And ya, when you get a little further in the series let me know. It's fun to chat about these things.C. You know, I read a few articles mentioning the increasing interest in cycling around the time that Yowapeda became an anime, and at least for me, it's quite true O_O. I think it's a good thing; it keeps people active and trying new things, right? I'm using a street bike with the drop-bars (road racer if you will ). It feels pretty legit. And don't worry about your balance. There are lots of cool things you can do instead that don't require great balance.

Re: Hello (◦′ ᴗ ‵◦)
Oh, I've watched Yowapedal! I wasn't too fond of the main character, but the rest was pretty good haha. I also heard about the anime inspiring people to bike ride? Which is pretty great imo. It's a really enjoyable hobby and it doesn't really feel like exercise I've ridden bikes since when I was a kid but now that I live in a city, the opportunity to ride is nonexistent. So the anime is kinda nostalgic for me as well
@Berylee: I actually have the Prince of Tennis game! It's just that the beginning is soooo long that I never actually started it...ha...ha...i'm just super impatient maybe I will after I finish Hakuoki xD
For games I like to play, I mostly just care about the plot. Like, if I'm going to be reading something for a long period of time, it has to be interesting at the very least, right? I prefer long games > shorter games, and comedy is always a bonus. Otherwise, I'm open to pretty much anything!

@Feyre:
You're back! Ah, Onoda is a precious otaku child though. I appreciate his enthusiasm and love of capsule toys, and his ability to convert his friends to the hime hime ways .
Oh so you have the Prince of the School Festival game then? I'm guessing you haven't completed a route yet though. Ya, they like to have their little speil about how the festival works at the beginning, but it doesn't usually take too long. Then you're free to go visit your guy around the festival. Usually if I know I've seen text before, I toggle on the fast-forward and just click through it. I'll tell you that you'll notice repetition in some events with each route you take but there are enough differences and really sweet moments (on dates and stuff) that it's actually really fun. You'll get your confession at the end too. If you like PoT guys, it's so worth it.
It's actually kind of funny when you say you're impatient with games, because I am waayyy too impatient for Hakuoki . No actually, I tried playing it but man, they're slow talkers. I didn't really feel an attachment to the characters and was waiting and waiting for any romantic moment to pop up. Well, if anyone can convince me otherwise about Hakuoki, I might revisit it.
I'll try to recommend you some stuff that you might possibly enjoy (all english games):

I'll try to recommend you some stuff that you might possibly enjoy (all english games):
- Spoiler:
- Hatoful Boyfriend --- Have you heard of this? If you haven't heard too much, go into it expecting some laughs, and you'll get a lot more than you bargained for. Story-wise it's wonderful and the characters are a lot of fun. It's not a really long game, but there are plenty of routes and a lengthy true ending afterwards.
- Dot Kareshi series --- I'll warn you that these guys (especially the first game) are quite pervy, but you've got Spades faction listed so you're probably ok with it. It's fun, especially if you've played a classic RPG before. The first game is pretty steamy, and second game honestly tries to copy the first, and the third game takes a different spin and is almost like a parody of itself (which is well done and funny). The games aren't too long but there are 3 of them to get through.
- Sweet Fuse --- If you like the idea of being trapped in an amusement park mystery with a bunch of cool guys, where you have to take on deadly challenges in order to survive, then I will hand you Sweet Fuse. It feels like a light-hearted version of Saw. The guys are fun and the main character is pretty feisty. All in all it's a good time.
- Lucky Rabbit Reflex --- Yes, it's just high school life which has been done a million times, but I recommend this one for the characters and witty dialogue. There is a lot of intelligent back-and-forth banter and our MC is actually really funny.
- Some good NaNoRenO games I played this year (not very long games) --- "April was a Fool" and "The Blind Griffin". "April was a Fool" is surprisingly emotional for a party of RPG characters on a quest. The Blind Griffin is a cute visit back to the 1920s prohibition where you work at an underground speakeasy (also involves magic). Bad ends in both games are quite devastating though (but well written).
